UBC Sauder-HKU Dual Degree Supplemental Application

All students applying to the UBC Sauder-HKU Dual Degree program must meet UBC’s and HKU’s general admission requirements and program-specific requirements for the UBC Sauder School of Business Bachelor of Commerce program and HKU Bachelor of Business Administration program.

Your personal information is collected under the authority of section 26c of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and HKU’s Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance as set out in the Personal Information Collection Statement. This information will be used to process your application to the UBC Sauder-HKU Dual Degree program. By applying for this program, you are consenting to have your application (including your supplemental application and video interview) shared with HKU. Students holding the below to study in Hong Kong will be considered as non-local applicants in the University of Hong Kong and will pay the non-local fees upon admission to the University, according to the definition by the HKSAR Government adopted for education-related areas in the post-secondary education context:

  • Student visa / entry permit to study in Hong Kong
  • Dependent visa / entry permit and were aged 18 years old or above when you were first issued with such documents by the Immigration Department of the HKSAR; and
  • Visa under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG), issued by the Director of Immigration of the Hong Kong Immigration Department of the HKSAR.
Essay

In about 250 to 500 words, describe the motivations that have led you to apply to the Dual Degree program. You may explain how and why the multidisciplinary educational environments of the two universities will help you to achieve your intellectual, personal, and professional aspirations. You may also choose to explain how you foresee your involvement in campus life outside of the classroom.

Please upload as one single PDF file with a file name that includes your full name (i.e. Lastname, Firstname Documents.pdf ):

  • Your academic transcripts for the last two years
    • 2022-2023 year
    • 2023-2024 year (your first report card or most recent grades prior to the application deadline)
    • Predicted grades/scores of your public examination results (if applicable)
  • Reference letters from the two referees named in the References section of your Personal Profile is preferable but letters from other referees are also acceptable
  • Your TOEFL/IELTs scores if applicable

Note: If you are not able to include certain documents in the upload because the provider does not wish to release it directly to you, the provider must email the document to us at bcomquestions@sauder.ubc.ca and include “UBC Sauder – HKU Dual Degree Document for <insert full name>” in the subject line.
